The End Of Xbox 360 Announced By Microsoft
The End Of Xbox 360 Announced By Microsoft – That’s right, what you just read is damn right! The statement was made by Xbox boss Phil Spencer, today through a blog post:
“I am incredibly proud of all of the work and dedication that went into development of the Xbox 360 hardware, services and games portfolio over the last decade,” continued Spencer in the post. “Xbox 360 means a lot to everyone in Microsoft. And while we’ve had an amazing run, the realities of manufacturing a product over a decade old are starting to creep up on us. Which is why we have made the decision to stop manufacturing new Xbox 360 consoles.”
I do have an Xbox One console and I really like it, but I know there are many fans of the Xbox 360 console, even I have a few friends who’re still enjoying it and refuse to upgrade to the younger brother, Xbox One, just because they don’t want to. One of the most important things to know for now, is that Microsoft launched the Xbox 360 in 2005, and that is 11 years ago. That’s not bad at all! Other thing that has been forgotten after 11 years, is the fact that Microsoft launched the console one year ahead of Sony’s Play Station 3, who had a lot of problems – this way Xbox 360 gained a lot of fans in the US.
Now that Xbox 360 will not be manufactured anymore, I suppose all the attention will be taken by Xbox One, since Microsoft stated a while ago, that they don’t plan to release a updated version of Xbox One, but we never know. Lately we read many more new things about virtual reality and maybe Microsoft will release at some point in the future a console that will have that feature.
