Tesla Model 3 spotted on the street. How does the Model 3 behave in traffic

Model 3, the new Tesla electric car launched last week, was seen for the first time on the street. The automaker representatives stating that the company’s engineers will test the vehicle in traffic in the coming period to check for any design flaws .

According to Tesla the Model 3 is still in the testing phase and there are some details to be worked out, so it is possible for the car to be spotted in traffic in the next period until it will enter mass production.

Business Insider, comments, that this could also be a marketing strategy to increase the popularity of the new model, although it could say that the car lacks clients.

Although it will not enter production until 2017, preorders for the new sedan Tesla Model 3 had reached 276,000 , after the first days of the presentation of the concept. Currently, the maker of electric cars has raised over 325,000 pre-orders for the new model.

Tesla Motors CEO, Elon Musk  announcing at the the launch, that the Model 3 will have a range of about 215 miles ( 346 kilometers ) on a single charge and a starting price of $ 35,000, half the price of the other two models currently sold by Tesla, the Model S sedan and the Model X crossover, which starts at $ 70,000.

Musk explained that the company’s purpose is the production of about 500,000 vehicles per year. In 2015 , Tesla has delivered 50 580 units , mostly Model S, which surpassed the Nissan Leaf , becoming the best selling electric vehicle in the world.

Model 3 is a crucial element in achieving the strategic objective that Tesla  has proposed for 2020, when they hope to sell 500,000 electric cars per year, compared to only 50,000 last year. Several analysts have estimated that the launch Model 3 could be a historic moment for Tesla as important as the launch iPhone by Apple.
